A revolving programme of family activities may have you heading into the Roman Amphitheatre and hearing tales of Roman conquests, or creating crafts from the Victorian paintings surrounding you.
Our next Second Saturday on 8 February brings you a fun range of activities for all the family, exploring the Guildhall Art Gallery and its inspiring collection of paintings. This session's theme is Valentines Day responding to paintings in the main gallery, especially those symbolising love.
- 11am to 4 pm: Craft activities including; Victorian inspired collage card making, origami purses, handmade envelopes and creating some love and friendship inspired poems
- 11.15am and 2.15pm: Storytelling sessions in the Main Gallery (approx 20 mins). Includes a story corner with portable library, cushions, costumes, and soft play building bricks.
Plan to make a day of it and bring a picnic lunch to have at the Guildhall Art Gallery (cloakroom) or eat nearby.
This event is for children aged 3 to 11 and their families. It is not suitable for individual adults.
The activities are free, whilst booking is advised - we also welcome walk-ins on the day.
