Don't miss this special concert held in the stunning St James Garlickhythe church in the City of London

Constellations of Being Three revolves around the question of playing music together, focusing particularly on the nuances of performing as a trio. The pieces for organ, saxophone and piano that the Grapes trio will perform also create a space to meditate on music’s ‘energy to point out into our everyday life’.

The concert programme includes Sophie L. Stone Postcard-sized pieces (2020) a work to be played ‘together or alone’ that convenes subtle changes and fragile sounds, a new work by Eva-Maria Houben devising a common voice able to welcome ‘deviations from a precise synchrony’ and a trio by Antoine Beuger that collides, with quiet and long tones, a poem by XIX French writer Stéphane Mallarmé and a Western by Hollywood American filmmaker Sam Peckinpah. The Grapes trio are Eva-Maria Houben (Germany) and Huw Morgan (UK) on piano and organ as well as Artur Vidal (UK/France/Spain) on alto saxophone.

The concert includes a break and drinks will be available.
