GOFF COURTNEY & INTERMISSION

Goff Courtney

‘Distilled clothing’ label Goff Courtney splices tailoring, shirting, knitwear and outerwear into easy layering and hybrid pieces – spanning scarves, aprons, capelets, cardi-shirts, bolero-blouses, armwear and textile necklaces. Defying age, size and gender, the ‘softwear’ and ‘soft jewellery’ address today’s changing lifestyles, climes – and waistlines! A selection of vintage pieces, accessories and books are also for sale.

Founded by Yvonne Goff Courtney – a Finalist in the Barbour & Vogue Centenary Design Competition (out of 500+ entries) – and following in the footsteps of her grandfather, whose outerwear business was based up the road near St Paul’s.

Intermission

The bijoux shop at No. 1 Royal Exchange has additional ‘secret’ floors accessed via a spiral staircase. These house design showspace Intermission, with architect partner Misha Stefan. His ‘soft expressionist’ artworks splice buildings into dynamic forms to explore a future world – and have been exhibited at galleries in London, Athens, Lanzarote, St Petersburg and New York.
