Hear beautiful music in the stunning surroundings of Leathersellers' Hall.
Praised for his “liquidity of sound” and “devilish performances”, Lithuanian pianist Rokas Valuntonis has drawn admiration for his imaginative interpretations and striking virtuosity. He will bring the ecstatic, virtuosic music of Chopin to Leathersellers' Hall alongside works by fellow Latvian national Ciurlionis, best known for his visual art. With wonderful views of St Helen's Bishopgsgate from the foyer, and the colourful hall hidden away, deep underground, this promises to be a unique occasion.
The programme includes:
Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis (1875-1911)
- Nocturne in F sharp minor VL178
- Prelude in D flat major VL187
- Sonata in F major VL155
Frederic Chopin (1810-1849)
- Lithuanian song op. 74 no16
- Mazurkas op. 24
- Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise Brillante op. 22
