Embark on a transformative journey through the unexpected with NEON's SQUIGGLE, an immersive art installation reimagining how space and materials are used, at Citypoint from June to September 2024.
‘Squiggle’ was inspired by the non-linear reality of life. People make plans to go from A to B, and often picture these plans as direct lines. However, the actual process is irregular. Our path can suddenly change or develop in different directions at the same time. This squiggly line of direction can feel frustrating, but it is the part where we learn, grow and make important realisations of our journey.
This installation is constructed using 3 repeating modules that are clad in lengths of flexible PVC ducting often used in building works. The modules are arranged in such a way that visitors can interact with the artwork by sitting, walking over and laying across the work.
‘SQUIGGLE’ is part of LFA (The London Festival of Architecture), a month-long celebration of architecture and city-making, taking place every June across London from 1-30 June. Find more outdoor installations for LFA across the City of London this summer.

Who are NEON?
- Brookfield Properties commissioned NEON architecture practice for this year’s Public Summer Installation. Based on their incredible works in the public art space and their bold use of colour, interactivity with visitors and recyclable material choices to create works inspired by nature.
- Neon is an award-winning design practice based in the UK lead by Mark Nixon and Vilina Koivisto. The studio was founded to investigate the territory between architecture, art and design. They manipulate familiar materials in ways previously un-imagined. They design with every sense in mind. Delivering once in a lifetime emotional experience. NEON has worked on projects ranging in scale from objects up to monumental art installations. Alongside the team in the studio, they work with a highly skilled team of engineers, interaction consultants and fabricators to deliver our projects.
